Description

Tower of Insolence — Tower of Insolence. Elmoreden's golden age came a hundred years after its founding, during the reign of Baium. Possessing enormous charisma and unrivaled leadership, Baium managed to create the strongest army in the kingdom's history. This army drove the orcs from the northern parts of Elmore into the dark forests later known as the Orc Kingdom. In addition, Baium's army periodically attacked the Kingdom of Perios, eventually conquering the southern part of Gracia.

Having grown old, Baium lost interest in conquest. He directed all the kingdom's strength into building a tower of the most complex design, reaching into the heavens.

"Everyone living on the continent fears me, from north to south, from west to east! I control tens of thousands of lives with a single wave of my hand: to some I grant life, to others death. My power is absolute. There is only one thing I cannot bear — that this power will end with my death! So I must ask the gods for immortality and rule my people forever!"

Baium's tower was built for thirty years. He intended to use the tower to rise to the gods and learn the secret of immortality from them. When he reached the very top, the gods told him the following:

"Human, how dare you climb up here and ask us for eternal life for yourself? Has the lesson of the giants taught you nothing? Well, since your wish is eternal life, we will give it to you. But you will never be able to leave this tower."

Baium incurred the wrath of the gods and remained imprisoned forever at the very top of his tower.

Be that as it may, the tower is now known as the Tower of Insolence because of the arrogance of the king who built it. They say Baium still lives there. The gods cursed him by granting him immortality and imprisoned him in this tower. After many years of solitude he went completely mad.

Rumor has it that recently a mad Dark Elf woman opened the door of the tower and freed him. The royal family and the Mystics of Ivory Tower have sent a team of explorers. The area is now closed to ordinary people.

There is also a suspicion that the Tower was actually built to seize the magical power of the armies of Lilim and Nephilim, sealed long ago by the Seal of Avarice in the catacombs and necropolises.
